  Years ago, I bought a hot dog here. As I took a bite and got into my Corvette, the store owner came running over to accuse me of stealing the hot dog. He could have asked the cashier who was standing a few yards away from him, and who had just taken my money, but no, he needed to chase me down and accuse me of theft when he could have easily solved "the caper'" without horribly insulting me. This is not a safe, or trustworthy, or pleasant place to shop

  I would give ZERO STARS if I could but I gave five to ensure this review would be read. You're welcome . Honestly, the WORST and most DISRESPECTFUL staff I've ever encountered at a public, granted small, grocery store. VERY unprofessional and NOT WELCOMING TO VISITORS at all. One older woman actually went out of her way to ATTEMPT to make me feel uncomfortable and was extremely RUDE by asking unprofessional and inappropriate questions that had absolutely nothing to do with her NOR my shopping experience. She was VERY MEAN SPIRITED. And unfortunately these personality characteristics are not uncommon for most people you encounter in this town. My mother lives around the corner from this store and after the encounter I told her about, neither her nor myself or anyone else in my family who LIVES in carmel-by-the-sea will ever shop there or spend any money in this establishment ever again. Thank you for that.
